Muslim Converts called to terrorize U.S. citizens

Muslim Cleric Anjem Choudary has openly called for the implimentation of Sharia law in the United States as well as the United Kingdom.  Even though he is a citizen of the United Kingdom, Choudary claims that he is a man of Islam only and not a citizen of any country.  His law is of the Sharia and not of any one particular country. 

Choudary is the spokesman and leader of Islam4UK.  Islam4UK has since been banned by British authorities for inciting violence in support of the Sharia. On its website, Islam4UK described itself as having "been established by sincere Muslims as a platform to propagate the supreme Islamic ideology within the United Kingdom as a divine alternative to man-made law" to "convince the British public about the superiority of Islam...thereby changing public opinion in favour of Islam in order to transfer the authority and power “.  Choudary has declared that the flag of Islam will one day fly over the White House.

According to the National Islamic Prison Foundation, there are approximately 150,000 U.S. conversions to Islam each year with reports of more than 10% of the prison population Muslim. These conversion rates are expected to rise. These groups are largely successful with recruiting members, raising funds, setting up training camps and spreading their message, largely with the assistance of Muslim non profit organizations. The following individuals are U.S. citizen converts to Islam and have been tried and convicted for terrorist plots against the United States:

  • Jose Padilla, a 28 year old man, was sentenced to 17 years and four months in prison for conspiracy to murder, kidnap, and maim people in a foreign country, conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists and providing material support to terrorists. 
  • Kevin Lamar James, Founder of Islamic terrorist group Jam’iyyat Ul-Islam Is-Saheeh (The Association of True Islam) Pled guilty to plotting terror attacks against U.S. military facilities, Israeli offices and Jewish synagogues.
  • Kobie Diallo Williams, Referred to by the media as the lead member of the "Houston Taliban", he pled guilty to a conspiracy charge in which he admitted to paramilitary training and donating money to the Taliban. All 4 members of the Houston Taliban group were members of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA).
  • Laguerre Payen, Converted to Islam from Roman Catholicism while in prison during the 80's. One of four men from Newburgh, NY, who were arrested for the 2009 Bronx terrorism plot, a scheme to shoot down military airplanes flying out of an Air National Guard base in Newburgh, New York and blow up Riverdale Temple and Riverdale Jewish Center in the Bronx.
  • Levar Washington, Member of Islamic terrorist group Jam’iyyat Ul-Islam Is-Saheeh (The Association of True Islam) Arrested for armed robbery of gas stations, to fund terror operations. Pled guilty to plotting terror attacks against U.S. military facilities, Israeli offices and Jewish synagogues.
  • Mark Fidel Kools, A sergeant in the U.S. Army. Found guilty of a grenade and rifle attack on members of the 101st Airborne Division, that killed two of his officers and wounded 14 others at an army camp in Kuwait.
  • Michael Finton, A 29 year old Decatur, Illinois man, arrested in a plot to detonate a car bomb in front of the state capitol. Talib Islam drove a van which he believed contained 1 ton of high explosives and parked it in front of the target.
  • Onta Williams, Converted to Islam in prison during the 90's. One of four men from Newburgh, NY, who were arrested for the 2009 Bronx terrorism plot, a scheme to shoot down military airplanes flying out of an Air National Guard base in Newburgh, New York and blow up Riverdale Temple and Riverdale Jewish Center in the Bronx.
  • Paul Rockwood, A disciple of the American-Born cleric, Anwar al Awlaki, he (and his wife) pleaded guilty to charges of lying to federal investigators about the compilation of a terror hit list which contained the names of fifteen individuals whom they believed were "anti-Muslim and had harmed Muslim civilians and therefore deserved to die." He had also researched explosive devices, with the intention to use them in acts of domestic terrorism.
  • Ryan Gibson Anderson, A Specialist in the U.S. 81st Armored Brigade of the United States Army National Guard. Found guilty on five counts of attempting to aid and provide intelligence to al-Qaeda (including methods for killing soldiers.)

According to WikiIslam there are 53 U.S. citizens that have converted to Islam and have attempted or carried out terrorism against the United States and its citizens.  Many of whom were either recruited while in prison or were recruited from the ranks of the U.S. military.  What is even more disturbing is that our own federal governement continues to promote the idea that we are at war with "Al Queda" or the Taliban.  Could it be that the American people don't understand terrorism, or maybe they are too ignorant to understand the truth?  We are at war against terrorism and to deny the fact that we are at war with radical Islam and the institution of the Sharia is nothing short of complete ignorance and foolishness.
