Egyptian Authorities Freeze Bank Accounts belong to MB

Cairo, Asharq Al-Awsat- An Egyptian court released Khairat al-Shater, second Deputy of the Supreme Guide of Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, who has been in Egyptian custody since December 2006 with charges of including being affiliated with an outlawed group and money laundering. 

A legal source stated that Cairo Criminal Court decided to release al-Shater along with another 15 members of the group, but had also issued a ruling to have their assist frozen.

It is widely believed that al-Shater is one of the major financers of the group.  Zahra'a al-Shater, daughter of Khairat al-Shater told Asharq Al Awsat that her father did not go back home after his release, and that the bank her family does business with had informed her a day earlier that all their accounts had been frozen including her mother's inheritance money.
